ABOUT

Jonathan is a fashion, portrait and event photographer born in the UK, based in Sydney (Gadigal) and Melbourne (Naarm) Australia, working worldwide.

Jonathan’s photography encapsulates chaotic and trend-setting fashion in semi-curated images, drawing inspiration from the golden age of Hollywood, Y2K sleaze, modern street style and underground youth culture.

Known for his vivid colours, high contrast and striking imagery, Jonathan balances spontaneity with methodical creative direction to give his work an authentic charisma and charm. Jonathan’s style crisscrosses his European roots with his adopted Californian aesthetic influenced and born out of his love for notorious American artists.

Deep thinking, passionate observation and proactive storytelling have led Jonathan also to develop a candid documentation style of photography which he practices often on his travels and at activist rallies.

Working cross-medium on 35mm film, medium format (120) film and digital cameras, Jonathan hand scans and processes his own film and has developed a dreamy filmic digital approach. Jonathan is thorough in his process, often leading art direction, styling, pre and post-production alongside a strong team of talented creatives.
